You have no control over the circumstances BYU finds itself being affected by. None at all. And BYU has little influence over them as well, with respect to football expansion. Gotta get invited.

Yet you are letting those circumstances dictate to you how you feel, rather than just enjoying it for what it is--a great diversion from normal day life.

Take a step back, enjoy an off season without lamenting all the things that you do not have (or in this case, BYU), and just become a fan again that believes anything is possible once the season begins a new.

In other words, lose the cynicism, and let some hope in.
