I believe BYU could go undefeated 4 years in a row and still would be shutout of a chance at a national championship. The more that this program is playing for absolutely nothing, the more the program will lose in terms of interest and support. A conference championship may seem like a little, but it's at least something to play for and be proud of receiving at the time it is won. At least it takes out some of the bitterness of playing in a 2nd or 3rd tier bowl game with a conference championship in hand. That is what is realistic and achievable.
