I remember reading some very scathing, highly critical and inflammatory statements made by Gary Patterson about BYU after BYU left the MWC to go independent. then a few months later we find out that TCU also was planning to leave the MWC "high and dry", as you put it, while Patterson was making his hypocritical statements.

Not only did TCU leave the MWC "high and dry" but then in a very short span and before they even became part of the Big East they bolted and left THEM "high and dry" to join the Big 12. Patterson's comments about BYU were easy for any BYU fan to take offense to but that doesn't have any bearing or reflection on whether or not TCU would be a good member of the Big 12.

What does reflect negatively on TCU is that they wrecked 2 conferences in their determination to self-serve. yet, despite offensive and embarrassingly hypocritical comments made by a high profile TCU employee and despite embarrassingly self-serving and totally greedy moves made by the school itself leaving 2 entire athletic conferences in utter ruins in their wake, I choose to think pretty highly of them.
