HB gained credibility when he called independence, lost it when he predicted
a phenomenal 2011 season. Predicting the future's a crap shoot.

For me, the defense seems to have come together. We have probably the most athletic group of LB's Bronco has ever had, and they're 2-deep. The d-line, while a little shorter on depth, looks extremely solid, with Kaufusi giving us the added dimension of a play maker that our d-lines typically lack. The BC spot will be fine. The safeties are very good and have plenty of depth. Both corners currently lack depth, but Sam Lee's September return ought to provide depth at both spots. Long story short, the D will be very good this year.

Bronco's style of D will always be vulnerable to the accurate deep ball, but in truth, just what defense isn't? That said, who do we face this year who can attack that weakness? Not UVA, not Texas, not USU, not GT, not BSU, not Wisconsin, and not ND. Middle Tennessee, Houston, Idaho State, and Nevada I'm not too worried about. That leaves only Utah as a potential to challenge this defense deep, and seeing as how their offense has been completely inept at any short passing game in years, we should expect some deep throws from them and they'll probably complete a few. So long as it's not for a TD, our D just needs to not be shell shocked, regroup, and stuff their short game and we'll still be fine.

I'm sold on this defense. We've got play makers galore among the front 7 and even in the secondary. We've got an entire schedule of teams set to attack the strengths of our defense and not it's lone weakness. This alone will give us a chance to win every single game on the schedule. All we need is just a competent offense to take advantage of those chances. No pressure, Dr Anae.
