H&D BBQ in Cottonwood Heights
I tried it out today. Got there at 11:30 and I was the first customer. They were organized the way you would expect a brand new business to be so I was a little surprised to hear they have been open since December. Oh well, I don't go to bbq for the ambiance. By the time I left they had a respectable number of people there eating.

I got the 2-meat combo with ribs and brisket. Comes with two sides - I chose the beans and fries. The ribs had great flavor. They were a little fattier than I would like, but I did have ribs from the end of the rack so maybe it wasn't a completely accurate assessment of the quality of the meat. I was asked if I wanted chopped or sliced brisket, which I believe is their way of differentiating the flat from the point. I chose the chopped brisket, and it was also very good. Strong smoke flavor, which I liked. Not dry at all.

They have two sauces - an original and a spicy. The spicy was better. I liked that it was still sweet with a strong peppery flavor that was a little unique. I thought it went well on the brisket.

The beans were too sweet for me. Had a bourbon flavor that was good but again, too sweet. I liked that the fries were fresh-cut. Good fries.

Portions were large. I thought I was up for a big bbq lunch today, but I didn't have it in me. Didn't quite finish any of the items. 2-meat combo with 2 sides and a drink was $17 w/ tax.

I'd go there again. It's nice to have a bbq option in the SE part of the valley.
