I have a colleague who lost his 15 year old son in a roll over. He had
3 younger children. The pain he has endured since is beyond words. Yet, he has continued to live life and contribute to the common good.

Having a son myself, I could not imagine how he had done this. How had he endured through such heartbreak. However, it dawned on me one day that this man still had children that needed him. If he were to give up and despair, the children that remained would have lost not only their brother but their father as well.

There are no words I can say, no deeds I can perform, that will change anything. Your burden is beyond imaginable.

But now you have an opportunity to set an example, just as my colleague set for me. Endure. Tragedies will continue every day for people all over the earth. Tragedies even similar to your own. People will need a light to turn to, a story to hear for comfort. You can be one of those lights. Those lights are so needed in an imperfect cruel world that we live in at times.

Your wife and kids will need you more than ever now.

God bless you. God bless your son.

My heart aches with you.
