If I am Taysom Hill I come back for sure unless
1. I feel I am too injury prone and won't be able to play a full season again and am worried about my long term health.

2. I feel like I would either divide the team or simply not be the starting QB.

Who cares if he is 26? I am 37 and if given the choice to bust my butt and play collegiate football for a year at BYU I would do it (yes, I realize just how much work it is). It is worth it and it will be something he remembers forever.

He has a chance at the NFL, but right now his chances of being drafted are extremely slim. Injury prone and really not a great passer in his career (he looked great in the Nebraska game and you could tell he learned a lot, but my guess is scouts aren't going to put a whole lot of stock in one half).

Would he transfer? If he feels #2 would be the case, which I can't imagine he does. This team loves him and he is their leader. That being said he would have real competition for the starting QB job. He could pick any number of schools to transfer to and not have that problem. That being said, Taysom is a BYU guy to his core. I don't think he wants to play at another school.

Would he change positions? Hard to say if he will be best the best QB on the team next year because we don't know how far Mangum will progress. As a passer Mangum is leaps and bounds ahead of where Taysom was at as a freshman. Taysom is better right now imo, but that may change. If Taysom comes back you have to believe it would be as the starting QB. Mangum is a nice guy, but I'm sure has his own aspirations. He is already old and a year on the bench would only make him older without the experience part of it. Taysom would make one heck of a safety, but again he has put so much time and effort into being a QB. I believe he has the tools to play at the next level (perhaps only as a backup), would you come back and start over again?

I understand Taysom has good options out there for a career. Good for him. If it were me that career can wait until my football career is finished. Would I switch positions? Nope, not unless the NFL told me to. I have put too much into being a QB and I am very good at it. So if it were me the biggest question would be whether I am coming back to BYU to compete for the job or if I am moving on to another school.
