One of my converts from 30 years ago in Ecuador Skyped with me today. His son just returned from a mission, and would now like to attend BYU. They asked me for help figuring it out. I've already read the "How to Apply" page for BYU admissions, including the section on "Evaluating International Work". But I'm still hoping somebody on here can give some information, like commentary on evaluating international work, what the required language proficiency is, are there special considerations for students from places like South America, how do I look for scholarships, etc.

Basically, any pointers, links or suggestions you could give me to help this kid get started would be great.
