Johnny Cash Walk-on
A big reason our defense is terrible is players wanting to avoid foul trouble.
Going back to Jimmer Fredette, Tyler Haws, and now Chase Fischer and Kyle Collinsworth are players not playing defense so they can avoid foul trouble and stay in the game. They only care about the scoring side, and want the big offensive stats.

I saw Fischer multiple times against Pepperdine not play any defense at all against his guy. He knew that if he fouled he'd have to come out if the game, so he just played no defense at all. Haws did that all the time too---he wanted to stay in the game so he could score. Jimmer same thing.

It kills us and lets teams / players have big games against us. We have a deep bench if someone gets in foul trouble, so we can go to the bench if a starter gets in foul triuble. Guys need to play defense and worry less about their offensive stats and minutes. Rose is to blame for not stopping this selfish practice.
