Why I am mostly happy over the Brady ruling:
It has very little to do with football or who is right and who is wrong.

The NFL and the NFLPA negotiated a labor agreement that gave Goodell the right to be judge, jury and executioner on penalties. This was a sticking point on negotiations and something the NFL fought very hard for. Then when you don't like what Goodell ruled on you can't be upset with the outcome.

Goodell has no allegiances to any team (him and Kraft were great friends) and wants to do what is best for his owners. In that regards he is a very good commissioner (they are paying him to make them money, he has done it better than anyone before him). Why would Goodell ever do something that wouldn't help the league and its owners?

There is clearly evidence that Tom Brady cheated . Again I'm not here to argue over that evidence nor the role that the NFL played in the investigation. Nor am I hear to argue about how badly he cheated or the effect on the game. That has been done to death.

I'm here simply to say that when you agree to a contract you should have to stick by that contract. The NFL gave up money to give Goodell all power. You can't come back now and say he can't have what you already negotiated to.

Lastly, I don't think missing 4 games will hurt the Patriots or Brady in their hunt to become champions. I am a Bronco's fan and it still seems like a 3-horse race to me between the Pats, Broncos and Steelers with the Colts being dangerous (I know, big limb as 1 out of those 4 teams has won the AFC 12 out of the last 13 years) with Luck at the helm. To me the biggest loss for the Patriots was in the 1st round pick they forfeited.
