...their trials, and their troubles, and their afflictions, and shall be lifted up at the last day." Alma 36:3

A few years ago my wife and I went through a different kind of Gethsemane. One thing I will never forget is that while our physical, mental, and spiritual tanks were running on empty, we literally felt the prayers of our friends and family. I can't explain it, but it was real and they helped buoy us. Two lessons I learned during that tough moment: 1) I can do hard things with the Lord, even when I thought I couldn't go an inch further, the atonement of Jesus Christ carried us through; and 2) I learned what it meant to "have our hearts knit together in unity and in love one towards another."

I pray that you will feel the prayers of others, and that they will help sustain you.

One last thing I'll share, brother to brother, is I will never forget giving my wife a Priesthood blessing during this time, and the words that came into my mind as clear as anything were that "Christ weeps with us during our trial." The Spirit was powerfully strong, testifying to the truth of these words. Tears streamed down my face and my wife's face in that moment. Tears stream down my face now as I share this with you, because I know that Christ weeps with you and your family during this trial just as I and others weep with you too.
