Many Utah fans live in a world where the historical center of the universe is
2004 - 2008 and their BCS Bowl wins are the most important thing ever. They don't realize that around the country very few people even remember those games without stopping to think for a minute.
The greatest evidence of this was that twitter battle between a local sports reporter in Alabama that made an offhand tweet about Covey possibly transferring to BYU after his mission. She was bombarded with replies from angry Utes insinuating she had an axe to grind because of the 2008 Sugar Bowl. Her reply was classic. It was something pretty close to: "Yep. Those 4 national championships in the last 7 years have done nothing to ease my pain." They don't realize that the 2008 Sugar Bowl is a far distant memory for Alabama fans. A little annoying blip before four national championships.
