I think it was more a reference to believing in the afterlife
But, LDS Church doctrine is the only faith in Christendom that definitively declares that families can be forever.
As someone who lost his spouse, it was the plan of salvation and temple ordinances that helped comfort me when she was taken from this Earth.
But I get your point. People off Christan faith have a belief in the afterlife just as we do, which is definitely comforting.
