Mom passed away a little over a year ago. She had some dvr'd stuff saved on an external hard drive. I wound up with the external hard drive, thinking I could plug it into my Dish receiver and see what she had saved. When I plugged it in last night I got an error message saying an external hard drive can only be used with one receiver at a time and that if I continued forward on my receiver it would delete the recordings already on the external hard drive. Dish Network doesn't make a workaround available.

I'm not asking for anything illegal. I also don't want an expensive 20 step thing that only an IT guy can do. We're probably talking about a dozen or so movies I might be interested in watching. Do I have any options to get the recordings from the EHD to my receiver?
