The Legacy of Taysom Hill
Taysom has a chance to vastly change his legacy this year. Currently I believe his legacy is something like this:
Freak athlete at BYU who mostly won games with his legs, but was injured more often than not. One of the biggest "what could have been" athletes in BYU history.

Overall his record is average (8-5 the only fully year he started...although he has been 5-1 in games he has started over the past couple of years)
His passing stats are mediocre (currently he ranks below Riley Nelson, Sean Covey, Charlie Peterson and Christian Stewart) while his rushing stats are the best we have ever seen at that position.

In the great pantheon of BYU quarterbacks, he currently ranks well below Detmer, McMahon and Young. He is also below Sarkisian, Bosco, Doman and Nielsen. IMO he is still looking up at Hall, Beck, Wilson, Walsh, Sheide, Hancock and even Feterik (well maybe not ).

He has one of the great memories in recent football history in hurdling the Texas defender. He also has one of the biggest tear jerker moments in the locker room after the Nebraska game a year ago. He has always said and done the right things and is beloved by pretty much all of BYU Cougar Fans. Still, I don't believe Taysom has come close to reaching his peak.

Taysom has a chance to jump up to that very top group of BYU quarterbacks with a special season. Steve Young did it. At the very least a healthy Hill should be able to jump up significantly in the ranks. He appears to be an improved passer. He is moving into the system he says he has always envisioned himself running. He has loads of talent surrounding him. He has a new offensive coordinator that many of us are salivating over. This is his year (I know we said it last year, but it turns out it wasn't meant to be).

With Taysom at the helm, I honestly don't see any team on the schedule that is unbeatable. Wins and stats could very well put him in the Heisman conversation. He is a great leader, the team loves him. I am fully expecting to see a special season out of Taysom Hill. It is his last chance to permanently change his legacy.
