Why do we become so emotionally connected with football?
What makes people so passionate about a team?

I have been incredibly angry watching football before. Last night I wasn't happy about the result and I certainly wasn't happy after the ute game.

In the end it is our choice to follow and become invested in game despite having no control on the outcome of the game. Why Do we chose to become emotionally invested in the game? Why do we care so much about BYU Football? It seems irrational knowing we cannot affect the outcome of the game.

Why does it matter to you if they lose?
What benefit do you have from BYU winning?
I'm just trying to figure out why it matters to different people and what makes them tick.
