Mangum and ability to grasp the offense: Mangum had a reputation for being
very good at understanding offense. At the Elite 11 when they asked questions, they were sure he knew the answer and had to give the other guys time to think and answer. I remember watching a segment where the coach said, "Somebody other than Tanner this time" when asking a question.

Trent Dilfer told (Steve Young or Mattich, I forget which) to forget Jake Heaps (the hot recruit at the time) and that Mangum would be the next great BYU QB.

I'm not promising a fantastic bowl performance. But I don't think we have to worry about Mangum not grasping the offense next year.
