He says he didn't care. He didn't know who it was. But he thought it was kids who were a couple of years younger than him and they had no impact on his daily life other than the phone annoyance. He had heard rumors that he had "dissed" one of their friends that he had never even met.
My wife and I stumbled on it without him telling us. The next paragraph is why I'm posting this.
We took the phone to the high school principal. We told him our son was showing no signs of distress but we wanted to get on top of it early by showing him the texts in case we had to come back later and ask for help. He said the schools in Utah have relationships with law enforcement and they can find out who owns the numbers the texts and calls are coming from. And law enforcement takes it seriously, even paying a visit to the owners.
The next night they kept calling my son from different numbers when he was with me. A couple of them tried saying things in basic Spanish. I started answering all the calls and breaking into rapid fire Spanish. I don't know why but everything stopped then.
