We're planning a family vacation to Banff and Kootenay this summer, and while I can (and have) looked at the NP campgrounds, I'm wondering if anybody on here has favorite spot recommendations. We will be tent camping with 7 people. Are the park campgrounds the best options? Any specific sites/loops that you prefer?

Also, we want to see Lake Louise, of course, but we're also looking for some good family hikes to do. My youngest is 5, but he's a pretty good hiker. Our thoughts were to go to Banff and Kootenay, as well as Waterton. Anything else we should see around there?

Just any tips you might have to offer would be appreciated. I've just driven into Waterton once, and that's the extent of my Alberta experience.
