Najee Harris, the #1 recruit in the country is obviously looking to make it in the NFL. Let's just say he signs for the $50,000 and plays one year in this new Cal League. He is now eligible for the NFL draft since he is already a professional athlete. He doesn't have to take 2 mores years of hits to his legs and risking a dibilitating injury before getting his shot in the NFL. What this league will do if you read the article, is give NFL talent/scounting departments film and access to his practice workouts to help them better
gauge his NFL potential. He will be available to work year around with his Cal League Team as well as work out for NFL teams instead of taking that knitting class in the fall. I honestly don't know if he would enter the draft after the first year or be able to sign with any team as a free agent. Definitely would like to see and read more.
