Don't get me wrong, I'm all for paying teachers more than they currently get... I wouldn't want to deal with disrespectful children all day. But don't whine when you chose a lower paying field, and then stuck with it for 28 years. I would gladly take a pay cut to have my summers free. That is as long as I don't have to deal with kids. My online gig at BYU-I is only a little better than teaching high school. There are great students, and there are the ones that are in school for the social aspect.
