and how is this any different than emerging products/technologies that
machinists have to work on or new projects with hard deadlines from the new CEO passed down to the FP&A team or sudden decline in sales for the sales manager that has to come up with new pipelines or face a pink slip?

I would argue that the average profession has to shift, adapt, and change, which all takes considerable time, stress and energy, significantly more than teachers.

Again, I come from a family of teachers. My dad was one for a time. My mother. My grandmother, aunts and an uncle are or were teachers.

Trade offs.
