what we've got the past 12 years. That's not to say there couldn't be an additional year or two every 12 years where BYU pushes further into the NCAA tournament but that involves as much luck as it does skill (i.e. favorable matchups/seedings not of our making).
If you expect a lot more than the past 12 years, the problem lies with ignoring decades of BYU basketball history and the types of players we can get to come here. It also means that you've unfairly downplayed the success BYU has had since 2006. There are literally hundreds of teams who would kill for the last 12 years we've had.
There's nothing wrong with hoping for better, at least until that unfulfilled hope cankers into something worse. Then it's probably useful to recalibrate yourself with reality.
