Virus protection just expired; what's my best options given my system/needs?

I have a Dell XPS tower running windows 10 that I bought from Costco about a year ago. McAfee came preinstalled and just expired. I know I've seen other threads in the past about better/free virus protection but wanted to get the latest opinions on the issue. Any tips or advice?

I use AVG's paid multi-device licensed anti-virus.

I have the same configuration. I use Microsoft Defender and then paid for Malware Bytes.
