Thoughts about my father-in-law's work situation right now.
My FIL is a programmer and he's 65. He's worked at his current company for almost 20 years. He has always had good reviews, including his most recent one within the last year.

A few weeks ago, his supervisor asked him something like this: "What are your plans about retirement. No pressure, I'm just looking to the future." My FIL responded that he'd like to work about 2 more years, until he had his house paid off.

Since that time, he's had his boss after him for several things. He's been called on the carpet a few times, unfairly according to him. From the description, it sounds like they are trying to make his work environment awful to get him to quit.

What are his options, if any, other than quitting? What should he do to protect himself? Just looking for thoughts from the CB Oracle.
