Need some input regarding shock collars for dogs
I have two boxers that have enormous amounts of energy. My back yard is fenced and is almost a full acre of grass and flower beds. The problem is that they have completely destroyed/chewed up/ripped out the drip irrigation system in the flower beds and they love to dig holes in the flower beds, particularly where the fence goes over the flower beds. Yes, they have dug holes under the fence numerous occasions.

My wife thinks that it is time to get shock collars for the dogs. She thinks that we can somehow set up a shock collar barrier that will prevent them from going into the flower beds and keep them in the grass area and porch. The flower beds are probably only 1/10th of the backyard, with the rest being grass.

Question for those who are familiar with shock collars: Can you set up the barrier in a fairly precise way? Do you recommend any brands of shock collars/ systems that have worked well for you? Our family really enjoys the boxers and they are fairly obedient. However, when my wife, kids and me get home at night from all of our activities/work/school, there is regularly another flower bed problem discovered.
