Options for dampening the noise of draining sewer water?
One of my basement bedrooms has a 2 foot section of pipe in the wall that empties all of the sewer water for the house. Any time a toilet is flushed or water runs, the water running down that pipe is pretty loud. Anyone have a solution to dampen the sound of something like that? I'm thinking about wrapping the pipe with some of those putty sheets you usually wrap around junction boxes and electrical outlets to prevent noise transfer. Anyone know if it can be used in that type of application?

I was also thinking of throwing some Roxul safe n sound in place of the existing insulation. Anyone else deal with this? Thoughts?
