I have excellent credit. But I had to get a captital one card with a 59$ annual fee about 10 years ago when I didn't. For the last several years I've called them up and they've waived it. I've never missed a payment with them. Well today I tried and got to the boss and they weren't budging. I even threatened to cancel and they called my bluff.
I don't need the credit line. It's a crappy card with a crappy limit. The problem is it's my oldest card and if I cancel it then my credit will drop. That wouldn't be a big deal but I'm just about to have my avg credit lines over 4 years which is a hump creditors look at and I want to buy a house shortly.

So. What should I do? Cancel the card? Eat the fee? Renegotiate again?
