I am so frustrated with the negativity regarding BYU basketball. People tend to forget the state of the program prior to Coach Rose. Below are the coaching records since 1949. Which coach stands out?
I get the feeling that many of the critics are young people who were so spoiled in the Jimmer years and just do not realize the amazing things that Coach Rose has done. If anyone deserves our confidence and trust it is Coach Rose. There certainly are areas that the team can improve but the Record of the team since Coach Rose took over is nothing short of amazing.
It is true that the team did not meet expectations this past year but I think people forget how young this team was and also the impact of injuries and despite those issues, the team still won over 20 games.
I get that the team did not meet expectations because of the anticipation of the lone Peak three etc. but people tend to forget that it is highly likely that we would not have the recruits /Players that we currently have and would not have the expectations that we have if Coach Rose was not coaching at BYU and had not created such an excellent program that attracts players of the caliber that BYU currently has that has resulted in the expectations that are there.
I am so excited about the future of BYU basketball (including the immediate future with these current players). I trust coach Rose's vision and leadership. His record speaks for itself.
