Over charging, too much bureaucracy, and my least favorite: a complete lack of empathy and awareness of patient needs. The only place I've ever been that functioned the way it should was at Huntsman Cancer Center. When my wife and I were there for her chemo, radiation, and other visits we really appreciated the efforts that facility made to try and provide comfort, punctuality, and empathy to the patients. Going through terminal cancer sucks. It sucks even more when doctors and hospitals behave like the DMV and don't give a crap. I get it, they see "terminal" every day and likely grow numb to it. But to that patient, it's not an every day occurrence. I wish hospitals would provide the same level of training that some of the high end hotels provide all of their employees.
