If she ever had to run off for a delivery, I got a phone call with a new estimated arrival time or reschedule. Sometimes, they'd come out in the waiting room to tell us what was going on. If I was on my way already, I could run errands or do other things instead of camping out in their waiting room. It wasn't always perfect but I at least felt they were respectful and tried to keep patients in the loop.
