Not sure what you are getting at. Emery is just about the only guy on this team that gives max effort on defense. He is the last guy that will be thrown off his game by being asked to play D. Haws or Bryant may be more put off by being berated about their lack of defensive effort.
So I get the point of the post. Will a task master type of guy create contention with some of the guys who came to BYU because of the free flowing, up-tempo scheme?
Maybe. It could be a tough transition for some exclusively offensive guys like Haws, Bryant and even Dastrup. Emery, Childs and Mika didn't seem to have any defensive effort issues.
