Ford spent millions in analyzing and negotiating the deal only to have Enzo Ferrari pull out of it at the last moment. This infuriated Henry Ford II and he poured millions into developing a car that would beat Ferrari at the most prestigious race on the planet, the 24 Hours of Les Mans. That car was the Ford GT.
