I've lived in Ok since 2011. The media here has 2 dominant college programs, 1 smaller program, an NBA team, and AAA baseball. The 2 dominant college programs are bitter rivals.

Sound familiar?

The local media here, to include sports talk radio, newspaper columns, and local TV somehow manage to be mostly supportive of all the teams. They don't root out controversy where it isn't and they don't do everything they can to ignite hatred between fanbases.  They serve the fan. They get cool interviews and insight from professionals. It's interesting and informative.

I cannot imagine, for instance, the media here going and saying bigoted things on a fan message board, getting suspended for it, saying more stupid things, then lying about it.  It's insane.

I know Utah has the religious angle to it. I wish that was downplayed more by both sides. It's unnecessary, immature, and frankly boring. Let's just talk sports and stop acting like 2 year olds.
