Novice techie here looking for advice on using Skype.
We used Skype to talk to our missionary son tonight, and it blew chunks. He's stateside and it was worse quality than Skype calls I've done with people in Europe and Africa. The video was choppy, all of the responses were delayed by at least 5 seconds, and he kept dropping. It ended up being really frustrating.

Any ideas on ways to make it run smoothly? I think our Wifi was as strong as usual. Would we get a better result from using a desktop instead of an iPad? Maybe do it from my work office in order to ensure a strong connection? Maybe ditch Skype altogether for a better video conferencing platform?
