I've never been a GSW fan boy and I would like to see the Cavs win this year....but
The finals this year will be a clash of titans. Here's why I think GSW will win and is likely the best team in the history of the sport.
-Best shooting team in NBA history.
-Draymond Green is one of the most unique players in NBA history. He's Dennis Rodman with a competent offensive game (leads team in assists, can shoot 3's, good dribbler/screener)
-Steph and Durant are two of the best pure scorers not only in the NBA today but they stack up with the greats on offense.
-Klay Thompson is a great two way player that is one of the best catch and shoot guys ever. (he also has a 2 inch vertical if he gets a running start)
-Iggy is one of the great wing defenders of his generation and is a team-first guy that can do a bit of everything. (finals MVP as a 6th man)
Having said that I may be more impressed with GSW defensively than I am offensively. They are brutal to score against.
-Durant has become an elite defender
-GSW switches almost everything on screens
-Durant can play the 4, Green the 5, and create a super lineup that is unstoppable.
-Draymond is the best defensive player in the NBA (LeBron is probably the best when he's locked in for a series)
-Steph is a competent defender who is smart and has very good hands
-the overall team speed defensively for GSW is devastating.
There are a couple of ways the Cavs can give them some problems.
-GSW switches on PNR so they can be susceptible to give up points to guys that are elite ISO players (think LeBron/Kyrie game 5-7 last year)
-Curry is scrappy but he can be limited if you play him physical (Durant, too)
-besides Draymond they don't have great rim protection (Zaza is a decent player but not Andrew Bogut in terms of interior D)
-Rebounding
I won't say the Cavs can't win this series because anything is possible when you have two elite ISO guys like LeBron and Kyrie who will use up almost every possession in a tight series. Having said that I think the Warriors win in 6 or less.
