What team would you trade places with?
Gonzaga's home schedule last year featured UVU, SDSU, Bryant, Washington, Akron, and South Dakota.
Arizona's home schedule last year featured CS Bakersfield, Sacred Heart, N Colorado, Texas Southern, UC Irvine, Grand Canyon, & New Mexico.
Kansas's home schedule last year featured Sienna, UNC Asheville, Long Beach, Stanford, UMKC, Nebraska, and Davidson.
From what I can see, nobody plays a great home non-conference schedule. The good early season match ups are almost all neutral court games (Maui, pre-season NIT, etc) or part of conference agreements (ACC-Big 10, SEC-Big 12). The big names we crave as fan simply aren't playing more than 1-2 non-conference road games. BYU didn't play any true non-conference road games last year.
The best thing BYU could do would be to get in a P5 conference but that seems to be a long shot and outside of BYU's control and it doesn't improve the non-conference schedule. Outside of that, a few home & home agreements with UNM, UNLV, SDSU, etc would be fun. I'd also like to get more P5 opponents but that has been difficult very everyone (Gonzaga got 1 in-state school last year and Arizona had no P5 non-conference home games).
