You would have to be interested in bees to have interest in this video. Basically we swap the frames from one box to another. That was earlier today. We just went tonight and most of them were in the box (it is a bit hairy to close the box off without getting stung. When it is warm the bees like "hanging out on the porch". Too dark to take a video of that...)
Bees get a bit grumpy once the flowers aren't blooming much. I took the lid off of one of the hives in my home apiary and got instantly popped on the hand (I don't generally wear gloves). Needless to say, I put my gloves on today...I keep my swarm catches (like this one) at a friends house.
I am pretty excited - this was my 10th swarm sale this year (I sell them for $175 each). Last year I only had two. It's nice because it helps cover the costs of my hobby. I should break on the positive side this year, but have a long way to break even overall - I keep buying stuff and it adds up in a hurry...like all hobbies.
Next year I won't have to spend much, but I want to buy a bee vacuum. Nice accessory for a swarm catcher guy like me.
