I mentioned in the linked post that I am considering leaving my company for another offer.
One of the offers I received has base and bonus, but the company refuses to provide in the letter a bonus target. They'll give me a verbal range, but won't include in the offer letter a target. I know the bonus is discretionary, but they act surprised that I'm asking for the offer letter to include a bonus target.

Am I out in left field to be uneasy with expect a bonus target to be included in the letter? HE keeps telling me what I can expect, and I ask them to put that in the letter, stating as well that its discretionary and dependent upon both my performance and that of the company, but they refuse to do so. Would you fellow CBers be uneasy with that position as well?
