Yes, you are out in left field. Instead of wanting it in writing ask to talk to

some successful employees who get the good bonuses so you can learn their best practices. If possible, talk to some who don't get the bonuses.

A company may be hesitant to put the target in your offer because of advice from their legal department. So don't ignore the offer, but do some more homework.
