High expectations did not cause this team to underperform last year. Numerous key injuries, a limited and ineffective offensive scheme, and lack of team play caused this team to underperform.

The latter two problems are being fixed and it's reasonable to assume away pervasive injuries.

Everyone i know, from casual fan to close up follower, thinks BYU will improve significantly.

But the many pundits who are predicting an upside surprise are pretending that they are among a small minority so doing.

P.S. They will still lose a game or two to inferior teams and defeat a superior team or two with inspired performances.
