We are building a desk and book shelf in an office space in our home. The width will be 9 feet and will be floor to ceiling. I am thinking 24 inches deep but wonder if 18 would be better. Desk would be 36" of cabinets/drawers, 36" of open space for the desk, then 36" of cabinets/drawers. Desktop will be a dark stained butcher block. 12' deep shelves from desktop to the ceiling except where the desk is, that would have an alcove for the computer and work area.
So what are the things we should consider as far as electricity and drawer/cabinet set up? What wiring should I think about running that wouldn't be obvious. Any body who has built something and wishes they had done it differently?
