Seen a bunch of disappointing movies lately
Doctor Strange - Not necessarily a bad movie until you consider that it has Tilda Swinton, Benedict Cumberbatch, Mads Mikkelson, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. How can you make a movie so uninteresting with actors that talented and interesting? Not sure I've ever seen a movie that felt so soulless - not badly made, just empty.

Baby Driver - Only disappointing because it's Edgar Wright and the reviews were so positive. Early scenes were cool but the bad guys were annoying and cliche and the end felt like a crummy horror movie. Also a bit uncomfortable with making an ostensibly breezy movie in which countless cops and civilians are killed with no weight or consequence. Didn't think it was nearly as good as the Cornetto trilogy.

Star Trek Reboot 3 - Just felt thoroughly mediocre. Aliens look cheap, writing is dumb, etc. I like the cast but it feels increasingly squandered with each new movie.

Frailty - This one was actually pretty good. Nifty B-movie thriller. About a widowed father who one day comes home and tells his sons he's had a vision in which God called them to kill demons who look like people. Bill Paxton is good in it.
