These two teams have never played by the same rules. It's only going to get worse. Utah doesn't have to deal with any of the challenges BYU does. You're essentially competing against someone with a massive handicap.
1. Utah has no Honor Code
2. They get scores more money, hence better facilities to attract recruits and pay coaches more $
3. Lower academic standards than BYU
4. Better games throughout the season
5. Conference affiliation
6. Favourable media attention
Now contrast the latest incidents between Bernard and Carrington and how each staff handles it. BYU benches our star player for a year and gets bad PR for it. Utah plays a guy like Carrington who shouldn't even be on a team let alone on the field and the media stays comparatively silent. There is no team in the universe that should be expected to win in this scenario in BYU's position.
And with all that, they still have proven to only be a mediocre at best Pac team. It's frustrating all around but what can our coaches or players really do?
