I think Ty has as much upside as anyone out there. This is not that uncommon
and there is a lot of reason why an AD would want to bring in TY.
1) incoming dollars to program
2) butts in seats
3) well respected offensive mind.
Whether this translates into coaching is anyone's guess. But, Ty was long thought to be a future opportunity to the program. Kalani played with Ty, so it's not out of left field. It's also possible that Kalani's proposed hires for OC were too raw and unproven and so Holmoe was happy to assist.
I wouldn't look at this as anything negative between Tom and Kalani. Really, Kalani is fresh, and could probably use the help.
