Shumway has been more productive and has done it in harder to succeed areas of the field. He's been getting open deeper downfield against the best teams running routes the opposing defenses are actively trying to take away from us. Hifo runs routes that the defense is willingly giving us so he's not facing the same pressure and cover as guys who are getting open (like Simon and Shumway) in the belly of the beast.

Even little used Trey Dye is putting up comparable production numbers to Hifo this season (who plays all the time) and Dye has even scored a TD.
