Okay...here's the game plan for Saturday....
Be it Mangum or Hoge we need to speed up the offense. I fully realize that the yewts were running more of a prevent defense at times. However, it did throw them off when Tanner got the team right back on the line and ran a quick play. I don't think GFGH is the answer because we could easily be 3 and out in less than a minute. However, somewhat of a modified GALF (Go a little faster--feel free to use this acronym ) would be a good idea.

Ty did run some crossing patterns against the yewts. Even that illegal pick play was what I've been preaching here on CB as a way to solve some of the WRs issues in press coverage. By the way, that play would have worked if Hifo just would have turned as if he was running a dig or come back route. I think we will see more of the roll out plays with Hoge, and I hope, Mangum too. When Mangum gets out of the pocket he really does see the field better and seems to be more loose out there. Hoge has WAY better feet than Mangum. So, if I were Ty I'd be throwing in some read option or a true spread for Hoge. Ty doesn't have to recreate the wheel here. He just needs to put in a hand full of plays and formations that will give Hoge an opportunity to get outside and use his feet. If Ty does any sort of spread or read option, I'd put Canada in the backfield. In my opinion Canada with more experience can handle the read option. If Ty wants to go more with a power type offense then use Tolutau. In fact, if Mangum starts the game Tolutau should get 25-30 carries. If Hoge starts I'd use Tolutau less but I'd still give him 15-20 carries. He's just too powerful to not have out there on the field. Maybe I'm wrong on Tolutau--Did East High run a spread option when Ula was there? If so, maybe he could handle it on the collegiate level?? I'd still go with Canada in a spread type offense.

On the D side I feel that our team isn't that bad. Yes, we have some slower guys on D. However, they just didn't play all that bad against the yewts. Nevertheless, I'd LOVE to see a few risks this week. Maybe a corner blitz with a cover 2 ( 2 guys deep to make sure nothing goes over the top). Maybe some D-line stunts or LB blitzes. Just something, anything!
