I've watched him closely in the open practices and scrimmages. Great deep ball
and he's a decent runner and good athlete/football player in general (not an elite runner, not as good as Huntley and def not Taysom, but a formidable threat to get yards running). He tends to look at one read, maybe a second, and then run (Taysom-esque in that regard). He's got a good arm and good velocity but is still learning how to be a QB. Tanner looked noticeably more accurate (better overall) in practices, but Hoge completed a lot of deep balls for whatever reason. Where Hoge struggled was throwing to the middle of the field, progressing through reads etc.

I guess he'll get his chance to prove what he can do. I'm worried though. Many times with Tanner out, the offense didn't move the ball. Especially if it required a pass on 3rd down. The good news is that he might be able to run for more first downs than Tanner did on 3rd and longs and he might be able to hit a receiver in stride on a deep ball, something that I don't think Tanner has ever done that I can recall.
