The expanded AAC would be a power basketball conference - high major
Tier 1: UConn, Gonzaga, Cincinnati, Memphis
Tier 2: BYU, SDSU, Houston, Wichita St.
Tier 3: Tulsa, Temple, SMU, Boise St., UCF
Tier 4: ECU, USF, Tulane, Air Force
That would be a 4-5 bid conference in most years, with the upside of 7-8 bids.

You have to take the statement in context. The context is competing with P5 schools as an independent is not sustainable
