You are kidding yourself
Last year, the AAC had 2 teams in the NCAA tournament, and they had 1 win -- without looking up specific games played, that means they should have gotten 3 NCAA credits. By contrast, the WCC had 2 teams and 6 wins; which (again without looking up but remembering Gonzaga was in the championship) is 7 NCAA credits. In 2016 the AAC had 4 teams but still just one win, 5 credits. The WCC had only 1 team but two wins, so 3 credits. In 2015 the AAC again ony had 2 teams with 1 win for 3 NCAA credits while the WCC also had 2 teams with 3 wins for 5 NCAA credits. So, my unofficial count for the last three years is AAC received 11 NCAA credits, the WCC received 15 -- the WCC actually had more. Beyond that, if BYU were to leave the WCC, we'd lose NCAA credits -- traditionally when you join a new conference you are not paid for NCAA credits earned prior to your joining that conference.

You make assumptions, such as Boise being willing to jump with us; I'm not sure Boise would agree to that any longer, particularly losing their sweetheart deal with the MWC. Additionally, even if Boise did, you end up with the issue we're seeing with the MAC but with the MWC -- where a decent MAC team goes undefeated and goes to the NYD6 game. I can easily see SDSU, with an easier MWC schedule, being able to find ways to run the table and gain the automatic berth while teams in an improved AAC "beat up" on each other.

What I know, and all most here really know (short of those that are actually in the athletic department) is that BYU's annual revenues have been going up since BYU went independent, and revenues are now about $15 million more than when we were in the MWC. While our revenues might be better than they used to be in the MWC, if we join a conference, it will likely be $10 million, or even more, less than they are now.
